Why Health Coaching?

Since my teenage years when my aunt introduced me to some simple ways to eat more healthy, I have always been interested in learning more about the power of food. In 2002,  a year after a very easy, healthy pregnancy, I was diagnosed with an ovarian tumors which led to surgery that kept me ill for months. Desperate to feel better when conventional medicine was not helping me, I began educated myself more about how I could help my body heal itself. Adhering to a strict macrobiotics diet  finally got me back on my feet after months of suffering. From that day, I continued to leasurely educating myself about alternative health, homeopathy, naturopathy, chinese medicine, ayurvedic medicine and the power of food in general. I also decided to become a vegetarian in 2006. However, it is not until 2009, when I was diagnosed with 2 auto immune diseases, that I seriously started researching and understanding the true power of using not only food but other methods such as acupuncture to help reduce symptoms of inflammation, hormones, and most other ailments. While working with my doctor, I decided to take charge of my own health and pay close attention to my diet and my lifestyle. I was eventually able to get off cortitcosteroids entirely and got rid of most of my symptoms. In 2019, after taking a mindfulness class while getting my MA in International Education Management I discovered the power of overall health.  While I knew the effects of stress and overworked, it was not until that class and that I realized how mindfulness was as important as, if not more than the food we consume. Someone can, after all, eat all the right food but still not be healthy. The teacher in me then decided it was time to finally get my health coaching degree so I could help more people than just my friends and family.  As a certified health coach from the Institute of Integrative nutrition, I am able to see each client in a very holitic way. Together we focus on all aspects of life, not just the food we put in our mouth.

There is nothing that makes me happier than to be able to help my clients identify ways to reconnect with themselves and heal their mind, body and soul. With my expertise, tools, resources and support, I will  guide and assist you in achieving your desired goals.

In the next few years, I intend to merge all my expertise ( education on bringing my services to schools as well as organizations
